Fortunately, this problem is treatable. And like in many other cases in hair care, the natural treatments are the best solution and for dandruff, too.

11 Effective and Natural Ways To Say Goodbye To Dandruff:

1. Indian Lilac
Aside from treating dandruff, Indian lilac also helps with itchy scalp, hair loss, and scalp acne. The plant, also known as neem, has a ton of antifungal and antibacterial properties. What you need to do is boil several neem ( Indian lilac) leaves in approximately one liter of water. Let them cool, and then strain the solution. Use the water you got for rinsing your hair in the next month for two or three times per week.

2. Coconut Oil
Slow but steady, coconut oil is becoming one of the healthiest and most popular natural home remedy. For your dandruff problem, coconut oil will help you get rid of it all while moisturizing your scalp and relieve you from itching. To prepare the mixture, you need coconut oil and lemon juice from half a lemon. Rub the mixture on your scalp, massaging your scalp for at least five minutes. Let it stay there for 20 minutes, and then wash your hair with your standard shampoo. You can perform the treatment three times per week.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar
I've already written on the topic of vinegar and beauty treatments. Now, I will tell you how apple cider vinegar can help you get rid of dandruff. The vinegar helps you by restoring the pH balance on your scalp, all while cleaning clogged pores and hair follicles. For the treatment, you need two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and two tablespoons of water. Sprinkle around 15 drops of tea tree oil in the mixture. Apply the mixture on your scalp by massaging and after few minutes rinse with water.

4. Baking Soda
Baking soda is another cheap product from your kitchen that you can use for multiple beauty treatments. Getting rid of dandruff is just one of the ways. Baking soda removes dead skin cells and absorbs the excess oil from your scalp and helps by balancing your pH level. What you need to do first is to wet your hair, and then rub some baking soda onto your scalp. Massage your scalp for few minutes, and then rinse with warm water. You can repeat the treatment two times per week. One thing to remember though, you should not shampoo your hair after the treatment.

5. Lemon Juice
Lemons are one of the best sources of vitamin C on the market, and its highly acidic properties help you get rid of dandruff by killing fungi that live on your scalp. For the lemon juice treatment, you need juice from half a lemon and one-quarter cup of yogurt. Apply the mixture on your hair and scalp and leave it dry for 20 minutes. Rinse with water, and then shampoo your hair. There is another alternative for using lemon juice. All you need to do is sprinkle some teaspoons of lemon juice with water on your hair. Massage for five minutes and then rinse with water.

6. Egg Yolk
I bet you didn't know you can use egg yolks to make your hair shiny and healthy? What you need are one or two egg yolks. Apply them on a dry head, and make sure you target only the scalp area. Now, put a plastic bag over your scalp, and leave it for one hour. After that, wash your hair with a shampoo, and you might need to wash it twice. I must warn you, egg yolks can leak and they smell strangely and bad. However, they are quite effective.

7. Lemon Juice and Curd
We already covered lemon juice, but this is another treatment that aside from lemon juice, it also includes curd. You need one bowl of curd and half a lemon. Squeeze the lemon, and mix together until you get a smooth paste. Do not throw away the peel from the lemon. Once you apply the mixture on your head, use the peel from the lemon to rub your scalp. Repeat the treatment every two or three days, and do not forget to shampoo after applying the mixture.

8. Lemon and Baking Soda
For this treatment, you need fresh juice from one lemon and a handful of baking soda. Once you get a smooth mixture, apply it on your scalp. Leave it there for few minutes, or until your scalp starts feeling itchy. Once you experience itchiness, wash the mixture out. Rinse your hair and you can use apple cider vinegar as a conditioner.

9. Olive Oil
If you are trying to lose weight, olive oil is your best friend. Olive oil cures the scalp dryness, which is one of the major factors contributing to dandruff. Extra-virgin olive oil is one of the best home and natural remedies for getting rid of dandruff. Heat some oil until you reach "slightly warm" temperature. Massage the oil onto your scalp for five to ten minutes. Wrap your hair with a towel and leave it to dry for 45 minutes. You can also leave it overnight. What is left is to shampoo your hair and use conditioner to make it shiny and healthy.

10. Mouthwash
Aside from keeping your teeth healthy and clean, mouthwash can be used to make your hair dandruff-free. What you need is to mix one part of mouthwash with nine parts of water. Pour the mixture onto your hair after you have washed with shampoo. Just dump the mixture and do not rinse it out. You can do this treatment once per month.

11. Aspirin
Get two tablets of aspirin and break them into a napkin or a thin cloth. Add the powder from the crushed aspirin to your regular shampoo. The next time you wash your hair, make sure to leave your shampoo on your head for at least 2 minutes before rinsing.
